Going Green Crafts

A new trend in schools and homes is green crafts. This means that kids make crafts using recyclable materials or things that would otherwise be thrown away. These green crafts are booming since:
They help the environment They teach kids to reuse, recycle, and make something new and different They are inexpensive They let children use their own creativity and imagination

Plastic Toy Boxes

Green crafts are also great for schools, since the cost is so low, and there are usually many items that would otherwise get thrown in the garbage.

Plastic Toy Boxes

There are so many projects kids can make: costumes, gift boxes, gift tags, treasure boxes, ornaments, puppets, notebook covers, locker decorations, decorative picks, centerpieces, piggy banks, photo boxes, etc

One thing I love to reuse for crafts is wrapping paper. At Christmas or birthdays, take the used wrapping paper and roll or fold it for future craft use. You can use it to cover plastic containers or glass jars to make keepsake holders; cover an old photo frame with a wrapping paper decoupage; or cut out designs to glue on other items.

Keep newsprint, or the paper that breakable items come wrapped in, for crafts. Plain newsprint can be used to make your own wrapping paper by decorating it with stampers, markers, cut outs from old wrapping paper or printed cardboard boxes, old magazine pictures, your own art work, etc. Old newspapers are always good for protecting tables and surfaces from paint and glue when kids are making their crafts. Old newspaper can also be shredded and used for stuffing in puppets and dolls.

Some extra items, like glue, markers and paint, may be needed to complete the crafts. You can supplement your supplies by taking some products from nature like: pine cones, wood sticks or twigs, stones, sand, leaves, etc.

It is never to early to teach kids how to go green. With fun activities like green crafts, they will be motivated to do more.

The Great Advantage of the Plastic Storage Containers

Plastic is everywhere. Plastic products range from the common house commodity to the latest technology in storage devices. Plastic storage is one of the commonly used storage systems nowadays because plastics are versatile and durable, at the same time useful in terms of features and materials. Today, plastic bins are used for storage purposes. Aside from making your home organized, it could also store goods longer than other materials. If things are valuable to you, you should store the items in a plastic bin to stay longer. Plastic is a good replacement for wooden box and furniture. Plastic storage lasts for years and years without damage.

Plastic Toy Boxes

There are different types of storage bins. Some have varieties of colors. They come with different sizes and shapes, at the same time they also differ in form and colors.

Plastic Toy Boxes

We will focus on the transparent and non-transparent plastic storage bins. For home organization and decors, transparent plastic storage is recommended. For decors that are not in season, say for example, Christmas decors and books out of season, they are normally stored in transparent boxes to see through where is the box where you put the decors on. At the same time, if you are looking for storage for unused clothes that are out of style and season like sweatshirts and coats, use the colored plastic boxes. They are actually conducive for long-term storage.

Plastic storage bins also differ in sizes and shapes. If you are looking for a container for toys storage and little unused things, get a huge box and drop everything into it. Since plastic is used from synthetic materials, they can be recycled. If other things are disposed, you could put other important things once it is emptied. Plastic is widely used not only for storage of unused stuffs, but also for food.

Food, if not kept in a secure container, will be spoiled in the long run. Plastic storage containers are the most conducive way of storing foods since it prevents leaks. At the same time, the food is kept in place. Well, another thing where the plastic storage is essential is for disposable food and stuffs. Try to check the supermarket. Even the basic commodities are being stored in plastic containers. They are also refrigerated using the aid of plastic containers as well. The uses of plastic are uncountable. However it has environmental hazards as well.

Disposal of plastic, since it is a non-biodegradable material is through setting it on fire. At the same time, the smoke emission of plastic can damage the health of people surrounding it, especially for people residing near plastic manufacturing plants. At the same time, it pollutes the air, contaminating it, and eventually would cause respiratory illnesses. It is important for us to manage our garbage disposal system to lessen the effect of plastic disposal.

If the plastic broke, and it cannot be recycled anymore, instead of setting it to fire, sell it to a junk shop. Normally, the operators would sell it to the plastic manufacturers to reuse the plastic junk and retreat the plastic again. Plastic storage bins are of big help, but there should be proper management as well to lessen the hazards it cause the environment.

Helping Toddlers Learn Through Make-Believe

Kayleen is serving tea and muffins to Oscar the Grouch while sporting a faded felt snowman hat. Not too far away, C.J. is holding a baby doll and gently taking her temperature with a big plastic thermometer. What do these two year olds have in common? They're both engaging in the time-less activity of 'make-believe' play.

Plastic Toy Boxes

Through make-believe, young children learn about themselves and the world around them. Little babies playing pat-a-cake are making believe. Depending on the age of the child, their role playing games will vary. Imaginative children don't need fancy toys or equipment to pretend; they're happy with a box and a toilet tissue roll. When they engage in pretend play with a variety of objects, they're learning life skills that will help them as adults.

Plastic Toy Boxes

We've all watched little kids playing dress-up or 'house.' Children can create an imaginary world anywhere - when molding clay animals, when helping mom or dad match-up socks (sock puppets are the best after all.) If they're this creative with just a sock, then think what they can do with special make-believe props.

Often parents feel that their children require expensive furniture and household equipment for pretend play. Remember the little boy with the refrigerator box in his back yard when you were a kid? Everyone showed up to help build limitless structures and the play would go on for hours, or until the box fell apart. Oh well, the hours spent cooperating together and using colorful imaginations were worth far more than any expensive jungle gym or playhouse.

What spurs the imagination of a toddler or preschool age child? What type of 'props' should parents provide to encourage make-believe even further than what kids will do naturally? Here are just a few ideas:

Playing make-believe encourages little children to play together, and is perfect for play groups and for helping shy children overcome anxiety. Little children have boundless ideas for creative play, but love it when parents or caregivers take part in the activity. Many times, imaginative play can help parents realize that their child is fearful or worried about something in particular. Helping them talk about their fears through make-believe will often lessen the child's stress and bring you closer to your child.

Encourage your child's imagination through make-believe with simple and inexpensive toys and props. Your refrigerator box may fall apart, but the fun of building it will last forever.
